So,in return for the scrumptious chocolate cake recipe by Sis Lin,that I will soon,try,I promise you that, I am posting this recipe of chocolate cake that I used to make. =)
Ingredients
8 oz Dark semisweet chocolate pieces
2/3 cup Butter
1 cup Sugar
4 Eggs
4 Heaped Tbs All purpose flour
4 Tbs Unsweetened Cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Vanilla extract
4 Tb Sour cream/ yogurt ( it doesn't make any difference if you use either of this,I opt for
yogurt,cause its cheaper. =)
Topping
2/3 cup Heavy cream or whipping cream
9 oz Semisweet chocolate pieces
I never actually tried this topping cause I always go for the whipping cream or melted chocolate for topping. =)
Steps!
1) Melt chocolate pieces and butter over hot water
2) Beat together the eggs and sugar, mix in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and vanilla extract
3) pour in the melted butter and chocolate and mix along with the sour cream or yogurt.
4)Bake in a the oven with the temperature set at 350 degrees for 50 mins. ( The cake is pretty much done when you insert a wooden pick and it came out clean. )
Topping:
Heat the heavy cream, or whipping cream in a sauce pan, do not boil.Remove the heat and put the chocolate pieces,stir until smooth and let it cool,until thickens.
Frost the cake.
Put the cake into the fridge to harden the frosting. Serve at room temperature. =))
